ÒKÈ ÒÚN – The Mountain Beyond

#randomtots

Òkè òún gan gan is our destination
Our place of rest and comfort
But it is òkè ìhàhín that is stopping us
For it must bow if òkè òún must be reached

Our temporary abode here
In the very heart of òkè ìhàhín
Must not be taken as all there is to us
For in due time we shall ascend Òkè òún

We endure and persevere all things
For no òkè ìhàhín can stop us
Our gaze is firm and fixed ahead
On the very apex of òkè òún

However, while we are here
While we sojourn òkè ìhàhín
We will not faint nor give up
We will get creative with it

We may decide to start a quarry here
Break òkè ìhàhín into stones, and make money
We may climb and hoist our flag on it
To join our collection of conquered òkè ìhàhíns

Or we could just turn it to a mural site
So AMI and co can paint our minds
And in turn make it a tourist site
A place men can come to recline

Whatever happens, we are not perturbed
We may fall, slow down, or take time
But we won’t stop for our gaze is fixed
For òké ìhàhín must bow

For our temporary abode here
In the very heart of òkè ìhàhín
Must not be taken as all there is to us
For òkè òún gan gan is our destination

We know who are, and where are headed
Òkè ìhàhín ni kò kàn tíì jé ká r’ókè òún

#IamImisioluwa, there’s more to us than meets the now.

Àbí I lie?

Be Inspired

[Meaning of words: Òkè òún: that mountain; Òkè ìhàhín: this mountain; Gan gan: specifically]
